Road Warrior – My life on US 52

I have been commuting from my home in south Minneapolis for more than three years now — 79.9 miles from driveway to parking lot. This amounts to three hours a day on the road, which adds up to 15 hours a week. Many days are so monotonous I lose track of whether I’m going to…

Igor gets his shoes

I recently photographed Igor Vovkovinskiy, the tallest person living in America, after he received three new pairs of shoes from Reebok.  Vovkovinskiy is 7 feet 8.33 inches tall and has lived in Rochester since he was a kid. Most of the photos I shot were of Igor being interviewed by WCCO reporter Holly Wagner, who is…

Recent Work — Fall 2012

I love fall and just about all that it entails. Visits to apple orchards, fall sports and of course cute kids and animals. I am starting to feel like I could get a degree in photographing cute kids and animals. Sure beats death and destruction when you think about it.

Recent work – July/August 2012

Wow, life has been busy of late and it has been difficult to find time to add some new photos to the blog. Between a lovely vacation week in the U.P. and weekends filled with summer activities, it’s been hard to find time for this. I am looking forward to fall as things slow down…

Discovery Garden – Red Wing, Minn.

Photos from a recent Camera Work photopage at the PB. This little garden in Red Wing’s Colvill Park was a lovely, peaceful place to visit. I had no luck with humming birds or butterflies, but still enjoyed the colorful flowers. University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardener Nancy Braschler, left, talks with Marilyn Mahoney, center, and…

Month-in-Review – June 2012

Okay, so I have not been too good at keeping up with ‘week-in-review’ so it looks like I’m going to attempt a month-in-review instead. Or maybe I’ll just post from time to time when I feel compelled. That might be my best bet. High school boys baseball season wrapped up with state tournament play in…

Red Wing Mural

Photos from an interesting, but quick, assignment to photograph Minneapolis muralist Kyle Holdridge, of Mural Montage. Holdridge spent a week painting a Red Wing logo on a downtown silo owned by Ag Partners in Red Wing. The mural project is sponsored by the Red Wing in Bloom Foundation.

Week-in-Review — May 28, 2012

This is coming a little late and includes Memorial Day coverage, so it might not technically fit into a week-in-review. I had to work all weekend and on Monday. This included covering the Med City Marathon, which went on despite some record high temperatures. I was sweating just watching the runners. Enjoyed covering the…

Week-in-Review – May 21, 2012

A typical week – mix of spring sports and feature stories. Had a chance to get some nature pics while working on a story on Red Wing’s Discovery Garden in Colvill Park. Had no luck with people actually using the garden, but I have time to revisit. It’s a great garden – nice to spend…
